Tomorrow shall be my dancing day
'Tomorrow shall be my dancing day'
Cameratina is hosting a weekend celebrating the music of Gustav and Imogen Holst.
Gustav needs no introduction, although his operas are less well -known. Conversely, Imogen, his daughter, is only now becoming established as a fine composer in her own right.
Susanna Stranders of the Royal Opera House has created the programme, working with Dame Felicity Palmer, who has not only recorded works by Gustav Holt but also worked alongside Imogen Holst.
Four young opera singers will explore the Holsts' music, performing two of Gustav’s short operas, Savitri and The Wandering Scholar.
The performances will be accompanied throughout by the Ellipsis Ensemble.
The operas will be co-directed by Dame Felicity and Nick Fowler.
